Really? George Clooney's 3 best movies

Following in the footsteps of Clint Eastwood, Actor George Clooney He is devoting himself more and more to management tasks. And based on successful performances and some glorious advertising cameos, really, George?, one ends up seeking new horizons on the other side of the cameras.

And that Clooney is precisely one of the actors who best looks in front of those cameras, magnetized by his chameleon photogenicity and by a touch of elegance in each gesture given to the protagonist of the day. Not to mention the consequent impact on spectators delighted with the performance of the day...

Weighing more for his career as an actor, we set aside the george clooneydirector (until some of his films achieve that greater importance and with one exception that you will soon discover below), and we focus his career on what in our opinion brings out the best in the acting skills of this actor with the cut of a classic heartthrob but capable of the most surprising mimicry…

Gravity

I was blown away by this movie and I was won over by a Sandra Bullock who stopped being that actress of bland roles to make the role of a lonely woman in the middle of space closer. Something that, precisely because of that naive point that accompanies the girl as a series, made the sensations of that cold and dark world above our sky closer.

There is no doubt that the couple formed by Clooney and Bullock embroiders that feeling as dancers in their space suits, executing their last dances among the stars. And this film, designed to be enjoyed to the same extent as feeling the anguish in front of the most beautiful of settings, makes its 90 minutes go by quickly.

Because not so many things happen while the two protagonists try to save their skins since the accident, but both manage to convey to us every moment, also between flashbacks and some delirium. The technical details that could return them safely to Earth are largely superfluous. Because only chance seems capable of making something go well. And at times the film is delicious transcendence in the middle of silence and cold that can lead the protagonists to a sweet death, rocked by nothingness, caressed by that zero gravity that distances us from all the noises of the body.

While repairing a satellite outside their ship, two astronauts have a serious accident and are left floating in space. They are Dr. Ryan Stone, a brilliant engineer on her first space mission, and veteran astronaut Matt Kowalsky. The foreign mission seemed routine, but a rain of space debris reaches them and disaster strikes: the satellite and part of the ship are destroyed, leaving Ryan and Matt completely alone, from which point they will try by all means to find a solution to return to Earth.

Midnight sky

Many great actors or singers, when they are a bit back from everything, dare with some theme that points to the cosmos to the pride of their egos. From Brian May to Brad Pitt or even my friend Bunbury. Songs and movies about interstellar passengers. As far as Clooney is concerned, in that double aspect in front of and behind the cameras. Here is the exception to my selection of the movies of him as a simple actor

It is true that this movie has that point of excess, of excessive sophistication at times. But it's just that CiFi is like that and George Clooney never tried to satisfy more lukewarm viewers in need of arguments clinging to the ground as far as scenery is concerned. Because then the background, as it happens in almost every science fiction plot, does lead us through emotional, metaphysical and even anthropological aspects.

An intellectual recreation in blockbuster format that manages to keep you glued to the screen even at its leisurely pace. Because the world as we know it no longer exists. And then “only” it remains to discover if there is some hope for the last humans looking for new places to inhabit…

A very dangerous romance

AVAILABLE ON ANY OF THESE PLATFORMS:

There are titles that invite you to kick the film of the day or the corresponding translator. This is certainly one of them. I don't know what "Out of Sight" has to do with the name given to it in Spanish. Perhaps the matter was to prop up the relationship between Clooney and Jennifer Lopez as one of the great claims. The arguments for, supposedly, merely increasing box office escapes me.

Selected in third place because, without being a movie, it largely reflects the role of a classic suspense movie actor in whose company even Jennifer Lopez seems like a good actress. Because the question is that strange pairing of danger and love that, due to the tension of the matter, points more to mystery and eroticism...

He is attractive, seductive and a bank robber. She is curvy, a government agent and a woman (the kind who likes attractive and seductive men with a vocation as scoundrels). What problem will they have? Indeed: the topic of crimes. Thus, a very entertaining mix of thriller and romantic drama with perfectly studied casting: Soderbergh brought together two of the biggest sex-symbols of the end of the millennium... and the chemistry between the couple works perfectly. In short: "Out of Sight", as a thriller, is quite entertaining, but as a game of seduction it is formidable: all of Clooney and López's scenes together are excellent.
