From the muses of music to the muses of the literary field. When it comes to inspiration and perspiration (whether on stage or alone at the desk), every artist is authorized by the muses for that creative promiscuity.

Because the muses are free entities that scatter their capricious love in the form of outbursts of inspiration or also as creative anthological blocks, depending on how you catch them.

The point is that Mikel Izal (yes, of the Izal of songs like «Pausa» «Copacabana» or «El pozo») has extended his musical rhymes to prose to tell us a singular story that transits between mystery, melancholy and a certain existential leave. A set of sensations that enrich the plot of an introspective story about a dark reflection of memory ... Let me explain:

Eric is about to enjoy one of those necessary parentheses in life. He has chosen a well-known island from his childhood, where surely time will go by slowly as before, only accompanied by more melancholy than during those days of inextinguishable light that promised childhood games and first loves.

There is hardly anyone on the island. It is very low season and the vacationers are only past echoes or future business prospects. In the same apartment block where Eric rents his room is Julio, an old man who offers a messy look, like his screeching memory. Eric wouldn't have paid much attention if it weren't for that cleaning girl who asked for his help ...

Until suddenly Eric is caught up in the mystery of Julio's mind. Certain flashes of reason point to a mysterious July from other days gone by. And doubt leads Eric deeper and deeper, to that space that every human soul shares, that place where the disorder of who we are is born and where the old memories are packed that finally configure our fears, desires and hopes. Let's call ourselves Julio or Eric ...
