The purpose of amendment par excellence… Today everything will be different is that announcement to the world of absolute commitment to firmly face all kinds of personal vicissitudes.

And so Eleanor decides. It is about reactivate, re-enjoying the little things, his little conversations on the way to school with his son Timby, but also making the most of his day to day, including that flame of sex turned into a wisp next to his husband Joe.

But Murphy is always there, lurking with his law. And just the day that Eleanor decides to change things, those things take on a life of their own, conspire against her plans and purposes.

Maybe it's Friday or maybe it's 13. The point is that little Timby feels unable to get up to go to school, or that he manages to pretend to his mother. No less peculiar is the case of Joe, who looks for you where he had also planned an escape from routine reality to enjoy his little things.

The absurd situation is wrapping with humor the situation of that singular day in which Eleanor thought to change the chip.

Although ... well thought out, perhaps it is not that fate, things or the most wicked Murphy orchestrated the disaster day as the start of Eleanor's new good plans.

Amid the chaos of the frustrated plan, chance leads Eleanor to a privileged space from which she can take a new perspective on her own life.

Out there, far from routine, Eleanor sees her evolution, the steps taken and the mistakes and secrets buried in a past that has been weighing down what she has become.

The comic perspective of this novel, in turn, shows us the weaknesses of our life plans, the extravagant way in which we procrastinate into oblivion matters without whose closure it is more difficult to enjoy the little things. To the point that nothing that happens to us seems to have meaning or narrative tension, life as an absurd satire of what we wanted to be.

Once able to glimpse her life with the outside perspective that the chaos of her plan leads to, Eleanor has no choice but to laugh at herself and harness the rush of positive energy to discover the true master plan of her days.
