Autumn 2017 readings

We come to September and the end of summer is upon us. But reading good books is still a gentle activity that we can extend as the days get shorter. With autumn we can finish pending readings or take a look at what's new in the publishing market.

New in books for this fall

As so often happens, upon entering September we are presented with spectacular launches. It will be something that publishers understand that with the return to routine we replenish our little worlds, including the bedside books that will accompany us at the beginning of autumn.
The bestsellers are appearing in presale and promise to fill the shelves of physical bookstores soon.
The promise takes on signs of certainty when discovering how the new creatures of authors of the stature of Ken Follet, Dan Brown or Stephen King they wait in their boxes or in the last phase of printing.

World bestsellers

  • In the case of Ken follet, happens to be the Recommended reading fall 2017 by excellence. Your book A column of fire closes an emblematic trilogy, perhaps the most recognized of the last twenty years: the Pillars of the Earth trilogy.
  • Dan Brown does the same, continuing the saga of the unforgettable Robert Langdon, with the added encouragement that the plot takes place almost entirely in Spain. The new installment is called From, and it will surely end up being commented on in any corner of our geography.
  • At another level (for me higher), but abounding in the novels by sagas, parts or deliveries we will find Stephen King, whose prolific pen and its habitual transfer to the cinema ends up overshadowing itself. Beyond the cinematic versions of La Torre Oscura, which is extremely topical, his new novel is End of watch, the third in which Inspector Bill Hodges will have to give a good account or, why not, succumb to the evil character played by Brady.

Spanish bestsellers

The same happens with great Spanish authors. For this fall we will enjoy a lot and good directly from some of the best current literary creators.

  • When don Arturo Perez Reverte take out a new novel, you must always cite it first. His mastery of the art of writing in any of its edges elevates him to the altars of novelties in his own right. His new book is Eva, the continuation of Falcó, a saga without a certain end and that announces many pleasant surprises.
  • Second, I rescue the new that is to come from Victor of the Tree, the revelation author of recent years in Spain. Self-made caste writer, with an unusual empathic capacity and with singular works, round as a whole. Above the rain it is announced as a considerable change of third, surely for the better. All that is to advance in the unpredictable path of a good writer, welcome.
  • There are not a few who yearn to start reading the new novel by Almudena Grandes, Dr. García's patients, a story that also announces a breaking point with what was previously written by this great author, but always maintaining that singular soul, either in a more personal plot or with an undoubted social tint as is this new case.
  • Javier Marías He is a writer of tradition and mastery. Berta Isla is her new novel, a story about love, coexistence, circumstances, the unexpected ... everything that happens in normal life and that rises under his pen towards a magical realism.

Other reading proposals fall 2017

And, of course, in order to find books for fall 2017 There are always novelties in which to immerse ourselves by recommendation, by word of mouth or by changing of scene. Authors from here and there with whom we can explore new genres or delve into those already known and in a greater way enjoyed.

  • I find it interesting to discover the work The boys band, from the journalist specializing in the mafia Roberto Saviano. A story with a lot of hidden or covert reality, the lives of young people who move in the underworld, where every day they fight the battle for life, their own and that of anyone who crosses their path.
  • A safe bet is always the new thing that emerges about the Millenium saga. Different authors have been in charge of keeping alive the flame of Lisbeth Salander, the creation of Stieg Larsson. For this fall the fifth installment comes out, from the hand of David Lagercrantz. The man who chased his shadowThe latter is called. Disturbing to know what will happen to the fireproof Lisbeth ...

There are many more books waiting for you this fall. You just have to take a tour of this space full of news and their respective reviews.
