The limit as a foundation. All narrative tension in the noir genre or thriller delves into that concept of characters to the limit. The question is to approach it from new approaches that manage to catch the reader.

He knows a lot about all this about the limits Lisa gardner and her great character Tessa Leoni ...

In this new installment we start with Nicole Frank and with a disconcerting situation that plunges us fully into a psychological thriller. Because when Nicky, as he is known in his environment, assures that little Vero must be out there, somewhere near the point where he suffered the accident, Sergeant Wyatt Foster deploys an operation in search of the little girl. He knows perfectly well that in those situations every second flies towards the final tragedy.

The open field scenario, with the crashed car, a confused Nicky and the rain pouring down paradoxically appears to us suffocating. Soon the barking of the dogs echoes in their frenetic search.

Until Nicky's husband, Thomas, arrives and urges everyone to give up the search for the girl. According to him it does not exist, and everything is due to Nicky's psychological problem that has been aggravated by the shock of the accident suffered.

Meanwhile, Nicky Frank's thoughts aloud are being inserted into us as coded messages. His mind is in chaos, but a certain point of lucidity seems to indicate that nothing is what it seems.

Tessa Leoni, along with Wyatt Foster will have to walk with lead when it comes to clarifying what has happened, beyond the accident itself that, in view of Nicky's supposed situation, the rain and the road, could be dispatched as a simple traffic accident.

In the hands of both investigators will be the final decision on how to consider what happened. And it could be that they finally let it pass ..., if not for some detail that squeaks slightly in that particular scene of the traffic accident ...

Meanwhile, as on so many other occasions, Gardner will have already thrown the hook at you from the first page, with the intention that you suppose, that you intend to read without missing any detail to find that key to the plot that opens the doors of what happened to a parallel reality.
