The moment has come, the expected closure, the end of the White City trilogy...

Eva Garcia Saenz He has shown that usual tenacity when it comes to sagas and with The Time Lords he concludes his trilogy, an exciting set that has spread like wildfire among avid readers of that fortunate mix of black novel, thriller and mystery that only a pen endowed with the miscegenation of literary genres can end up offering.

The lords of time, with its markedly fractional narrative proposal between remote past and present, can at times evoke Maria Oruña (another rising value of the Spanish black narrative) in his novel A place to go. It is about sharing an inspiring element that on previous occasions already served Eva as a resource. The past rescued for the occasion becomes a kind of cold stream of air that seems to creep in from a remote time and that awakens chills in the reader, once entered into that game of mirrors between yesterday, today and the mysteries that pass from one to the other side.

Then the plot moves along very different paths. And the truth is that in this third installment that is read with that closing reading ambition, Eva displays a job that achieves narrative excellence. With The Silence of the White City he captivated thousands of readers who still approach the work with the satisfaction of being able to find immediate continuity. The arrival of The Rites of Water was much more than confirmation, as the appreciation was increasing. So when the time came for the final novel, it was time to delve into the creative and the plot.

With that magical sensation of the extraordinary from the close, we continue to enjoy a city like Vitoria, adorned for the literary cause and full of mysteries that are presented to us between 1192 and the present.

Nothing better than a novel that plunges into another novel. Because this plot introduces us to the presentation of a highly successful novel in today's fictionalized setting. "The gentlemen of time", signed by Diego Veilaz reaches great heights of success but, in parallel, our friend Unai, or rather Kraken, discovers sinister analogies between what is narrated in the book and macabre representations of death with medieval overtones.

Although everything points to a madman with past knowledge about poisons from other times or ways of killing that are certainly disconcerting, the coincidences of the cases with the bestseller in question will end up leading the investigations towards esoteric aspects that surround historical events submerged in the nebula of the Myths and legends.

The tower of Nograro, ancestral debts of blood and treason, telluric forces, dark legends that acquire a disconcerting validity since the publication of that novel. An enveloping, hypnotic and highly disturbing plot that leads to a tremendous ending.

If you allow me a small wedge, in tune with this type of novels that we all devour with reading passion, you can also enjoy my novel «El sueño del santo«, A combination of great mysteries, tension and a touch of a crime novel for € 1 for an ebook, and also available on paper, published by Mira Editores ...

Wedges apart from this humble blogger, for the rest, you can already buy the book Los Señor del tiempo, the new novel by Eva García Sáenz and the end of the White City trilogy, here:
