On many occasions I have rescued novels from the good of Glenn cooper, an author capable of combining the genres of thriller and historical novel with absolute mastery and solvency. A kind of experiment that is catching on with readers of both genders.

This time we link his previous novel The gate of darkness, whose reading introduces us to the hecatomb of this new proposal.

At the time the door gave way to some wicked characters from the underworld. On this occasion, the sinister door has become a gigantic gate from which the most macabre guests, arranged for the total destruction of the world, can enter our world.

Official Synopsis: History, intrigue, action and adventure come together in The invasion of darkness, the latest installment of an apocalyptic fantasy imagined by Glenn Cooper, the wizard of thriller historical.

It is no longer possible to hide the truth, the floodgates are open and chaos has unleashed. Our future goes through a new descent into hell.

The gate between Earth and Hell has expanded and is now permanent. Disappearances are multiplying and the few people who have not obeyed the evacuation order have barricaded themselves in their homes in the vain hope that it will all be a nightmare from which they will soon awaken. But is not. London is a ghost town invaded by waves of beings from the darkness. Beings that, after appearing out of nowhere, have caused a devastating fire and continue to arrive relentlessly, like the flooding of a huge river. A river that has its origin in the Underworld.

John Camp and Emily Loughty captains the rescue party that has just returned to Earth. Both are convinced that only Paul Loomis, the world's leading specialist in the particles that have caused the phenomenon, is capable of closing the door again. But Paul committed a crime and was sent to the universe of the damned and John and Emily must return there to find him. The fate of humanity depends on their success.

En The invasion of darkness Glenn Cooper transports readers to a spooky parallel universe. An impeccable ending to his "Condemned" trilogy.
