The new rich and their accommodation in the new reality. In our current world the social strata are reduced to the availability of economic resources. A nouveau riche is always welcome in influential class circles, at least on the surface. No one can deprive a newly rich man of getting a good house and enrolling his children in selective schools.

Although the differences are always there. The nouveau riche are plagued in petit committee by the rich of solera and cradle. And the contrast narration can be as humorous as it is pitiful.

At book fallen from the sky, by Indian-born writer Diksha Basu, Jha and her family's daily lives are no longer burdened with minor vicissitudes in squalid Delhi. The new city, in its most comfortable and friendly part, opens up for them thanks to an unexpected arrival of a large sum of money.

They only have to move their few belongings and their customs to that other side of the city. But their noisy arrival ends up standing out in the peaceful new neighborhood. Jha is not willing to continue bearing glances over his shoulder and tries to conform to fashions, uses and customs in the same way as his wife, presenting hilarious situations in the process of accommodation (that kind of laugh that in turn awakens the paradoxical feeling unfair)

The son of the Jha family is the jarring note. He doesn't need to play that new game of appearances. His flourishing inner world is moving in other directions. To the point that it will end up providing good sense when the Jha enter into vindictive drifts of their new condition as considered people.

Money, his power, family, status, ambition and misery ... ideas that slip into this story of humor with grounds. A comedy about the tragedy of our human condition, raised socially like a pyramid where we all try to climb, forgetting the base as we believe we are closer to the top (without taking into account how easy it is to slope down ...)
