Alberto Vazquez-Figueroa he is a writer to whom I profess a special affection. His narrative agility and his tendency to tell attractive stories, extensively documented on his settings around the world, always seemed fascinating to me. If we add his story of live rhythm, handling a rich language and with characters constructed in detail, I can say that Vázquez-Figueroa encouraged me from a very young age to continue reading more and more books.

Knowing his literary ability, I am not surprised by the departure of his new book Goodbye Mister Trump, a story that connects his vast imagination with the most real circumstances through an interesting fictional approach. In a way, this book links to another recent asset, from the Mexican Jorge Volpi: Against Trump. Take a look if you want, it's funny how the oxygenated-haired president is able to arouse interest even in literature ...

Returning to the novelty of Vázquez Figueroa, from the first pages we launched into an assumption of next occurrence. Mexico proposes establishing a maritime corridor that is an Atlantic and Pacific, a pharaonic work that, once launched, could transfer that economic splendor from North America to Central America. Quite a slap to the defiant Trump and his bewildered country.

The wetbacks undertake the metaphorical and real return from the north bank of the Rio Grande to the south. A homeland eager to win the great game to the United States awaits you. However, the money with which it is intended to pay for the construction of the gigantic canal does not exactly come from public subsidies. The black money of mafias and traffickers is what will be used to build the artificial ocean channel.

Donald Trump assumes the launched ordeal and will use all his tricks to stop the work. The world watches in astonishment the conflict unleashed. Perhaps Trump's wall ends up becoming a defensive construction of the Mexicans built by the Americans. The great paradox of History could occur.

A history of realities and fictions, of metaphors that explain well-present political circumstances; a plot that presents the current megalomania of man, condemned to believe himself with more power than he really has; an adventure that takes us into the most sinister parts of economic interests, capable of silencing everything, of buying everything.
