Camille Thibaut. Policewoman. The paradigm of the current detective novel. It will be because of that of the sixth sense of women, or because of their greater capacity for analysis and study of evidence ... Whatever it is, welcome is the change of scenery that has already been ventilating literature for a few years.

Although in reality, in this novel Beats, Camille assumes an indirect role, no less relevant. There have been group murders in the city of Paris, a matter macabre enough for the entire city to show its disgust and dismay.

But the matter is becoming enigmatically convoluted, in a particular way, even disconcerting for the reader. The murders end up associated with the appearance of a woman who has remained underground for a long time. In command of the coincidental nonsense, we find investigator Franck Sharko.

In the middle of that investigation, as some evidence to pull out appears, Camille takes on her indirect but essential role. She appears with a mysterious cadence, just to get ahead of the veteran investigator on the slopes. And I say "mysterious cadence" because Camille Thibaut lives thanks to a transplanted heart that leads her to misbehave. He dreams of his original owner, he has nightmares with that other possessor who is now beating for his life ...

How does all of this come together in a plot? Well, with the mastery of this author, who knows how to slide fascinating enigmas between the scenarios of a black plot, who brushes extrasensory aspects to finish magnetizing you as a reader to this fast-paced story.

Your heart will end up beating like Camille's, almost stopping until a glimpse of the truth.
