A new installment of indefatigable Inspector Anders Knutas and once again the recurring scenario of Gotland to present us with a plot that points to the darkness of business, the quarrels of inheritance and the worst we can harbor when hatred, frustration and revenge end up eating us.

Mari jungstedt everything is played to the letter of some brothers heirs of a considerable real estate patrimony and the possible sinister turns that they can take from that taint of Cainite ambition and home envy. And without a doubt a new goal is being scored in that survey of evil in the closest circles.

The three brothers heirs to the property are María, Daniel and Julia. And between them there is (or at least there was and remains as something residual) that brotherly love due. But the circumstances of each one can push them to act in the most unexpected way.

Thus, when the death of Sanna Widding, the real estate agent, awakens an investigation that focuses on the three brothers, Anders Knutas must consider everything, try to delve into the family interstices, built on insurmountable walls of the family, where secrets and the motives that can lead to death are hidden like cornerstones.

We don't fully understand it, but Sanna's death seems like just a warning, a threatening beginning that haunts many other locals. Maybe it's just a matter of preserving the silence due ...

In a new and arduous investigative task that extends to the psychology of the siblings, their relationships and possible triggers, Knutas must compose the facts so that the matter does not end up getting even more out of control with the first victim.

Curiously, the plot points to those magnetic poles of love and hate, of life and death, antagonistic aspects that in the most emotional sphere of the family can reach levels of maximum intensity in that fatal attraction.

The trigger is the sale of a farm of great heritage value, without a doubt. But beyond money we find the shadows of life, looming like centuries-old memories of a place raised under the common name of the Ramberg.
