Leipzig is a city with clear reminiscences of the eastern Germany to which it belonged. Today it is risky to say that the inhabitants of a big city like this are more hermetic and reserved, but it is true that an evening walk at sunset shows you a silent city, where all the people have secluded themselves in their home, as if the day had nothing to offer. Curious for a more southern minded traveler ...

That is why this novel interested me. I wanted to get into a story set in this city that I met during a trip through old Europe. And the truth is that it did not disappoint me.

Beyond the stereotypes that I have presented to you myself, any current city presents scenarios and circles for all kinds of interests, even the darkest ...

Susana Olmos, an Erasmus student, establishes a close friendship with Bruno, a music teacher who will lead her to those spaces where the night is still alive for Leipzig.

Those same days, a macabre event took place in the city. Five girls have turned up dead. Statues commemorating the Battle of the Nations, which marked Napoleon's greatest defeat to date on October 19, 1813, depicted the naked bodies of the girls hieratic.

Police officer Klaus Bauman is handling this case, which undoubtedly points to a shocking and grim ritual that will lead him on a desperate search for the ruthless killers.

The perspective of the two characters, Susana and Klaus, complete and transform the night of Leipzig. The plot adds links with Berlin and enters the world of art and eroticism, of the philias and the esoteric.

The quiet night of Leipzig, where people gather peacefully in their homes, is governed by excesses, drugs, in confluence with Nazi reminiscences to degenerate into a dangerous underworld that moves surreptitiously in a city so contradictorily calm and leisurely.

Susana and Klaus also end up being part of that sinister current and will suffer in the first person the consequences of the approach to the creepy circle of evil.

  1. The truth is that I was not convinced.
It does not hook. The complicated characters.
Halfway through the book I wanted to quit, but I have reached the end without pain or glory.

    • I don't know ... maybe it was something subjective. Leipzig is a city that I know and maybe it suited me there ...
