The blame. One of the worst human sensations, capable of overriding whoever joins in his lap.

And Lieutenant Beatriz Manubens is immersed in that destructive chrysalis that limits the will, that frustrates and that prevents facing the present and the future from that irreconcilable past with the soul.

So his meteoric career in the UCO unit of the Judicial Police seems to have been suspended in limbo.

The truth is that Beatriz's capacity for work and sacrifice, methodical and perfectionist work, her personality of service to the cause of good ended up becoming a burden when everything went the other way around and that boy died between the shots ...

Beatriz closes in on herself and protects herself under the double layer of her retirement in her city, Albacete. But certainly evil does not know of geographical differences and when the news of the disappearance of little Adrián splashes her directly, an old spring manages to get her out of self-inflicted punishment. After the 6-year-old boy's disappearance, Beatriz discovers the murder case of her mother: Anabel Ramos.

The matter ends up involving her more deeply personally. Anabel is an old acquaintance from her young days. The ghoulish reality insists on pulling her out of her mental bog, forcing her to overcome all her pent-up anguish and guilt.

Adrián's case will be a puzzling challenge for Beatriz. Struggling between incipient and tormenting fears and the feeling of greater responsibility, she will assume as her own the discovery of the child's whereabouts, as an act of contrition, as a debt to be paid to herself. Perhaps at another time Beatriz would have been more objective, more thorough. Probably prior to his dire circumstances, he would have taken other steps and taken other steps in the process toward resolution.

But now she only has her instincts left, her overriding need to find Adrián as if it were the last thing she could do in this life. Among his most untimely reactions is his cure, as a recomposition of the past. Beatriz will be capable of everything and in front of everyone to find Adrián alive in a sublimation of guilt that will go far beyond the performance of her job.
