Sometimes I observe my four-year-old son and I get the typical question of the most inquisitive couples, only in a reflective way: What is he thinking? And the truth is that, putting myself in their shoes, with the difficulty that adults suppose to retake those ages of imagination and madness, I end up answering myself: Anything, he will be thinking anything.

In that "anything" the protagonist of this story enters fully. Mr. P is a bear, a huge invisible friend whom Arthur let into his house one day so that he would practically never be separated from him. If Arthur were a real child, there would be no doubt that one day he would, separate from Mr. P, and probably, years later, be unable to recognize him in his zoo cage.

But the good thing about books is that their characters are always there, reliving their history for the eyes of any reader, even for the same reader who rereads.

In the case of this book The unexpected visit of Mr. P, meeting little Arthur, whose soul opens wide only with his new and disconcerting friend, is extremely gratifying for a child, adolescent or adult reader to accompany the reading.

Arthur lives that moment in which the ego begins to manifest itself with virulence throughout his body, a reaction that is half neuronal and half hormonal. A process very typical of the little ones who start looking for your site. Who until that moment could have been a soul mate, his brother Liam becomes that little "enemy" with whom they always dispute minutiae with which to draw the attention of their parents. That's when Arthur feels that usual misunderstanding of children who are gradually ceasing to be.

What better solution than to bring an imaginary friend into the world? Why not a bear? Perfect, of course it is. A polar bear, very large, strong, capable of sharing mischief and accompanying fascinating moments of discovery, a friend to talk to and have fun with.

Without a doubt, this is an ideal book for those children who are gradually ceasing to be so. And precisely in that will to grow or in that inertia of time is really enjoying the most brilliant, creative and fascinating moments of childhood.
