From time to time I go around the current books and rescue those that evoke something about our society that is out of the ordinary, that raises critical thinking amid so much easy wandering, so much self-help for self-problems and so much unsubstantiality.

I noticed the book Your consumption can change the world in the spirit that the pretentiousness of the title would not lead me to another new intellectual blunder. And the truth is that it did not disappoint me, not at all.

The evidence of the multinationals at the controls of the world order It is that, an evidence that is emotionally, intellectually and rationally overcome thanks to the rampant individualism that in parallel has been known to establish by those same corporations as really perverse as they are apparently benevolent through advertising and constant image washing techniques.

That is why clear complaints with parallel proposals that can alleviate abuse and immorality are so necessary. And this book is one of those denunciations that offer ways to compensate for the dictatorship of capital.

We are not talking about communism, nor about alternative systems to this democracy, considered the least bad of social contracts. Rather, it is about participating in a responsible way, without getting carried away by that twisted publicity, putting what remains of critical thinking before us to provoke a change, a redibustrion of wealth with the improvement of opportunities that this entails for all.

Fight in an alternative way, stand up to outrageous consumption, open new avenues of equality. Obviously viable gestures with a little more social awareness. An awareness that also has that same individualistic point from which the machinery of mass consumption feeds. If we improve society, we improve individuals.

The author names a new Trojan horse that can sneak into the very heart of a world oligarchy. Would you like to sign up?
