The epic of sport par excellence is one that presents us with little David about to bring down a pretentious Goliath. Contrary to what usually happens in reality, competitive sports such as soccer are very given to these crazy odds that bring the little one closer to the triumph of his life. In the worst case, even when the little one touches success but does not quite achieve it, there will always be the sensation of the dreams lived, as an extension of real life but with the pleasant aftertaste of memories of the illusion lived.

That is why we almost always end up encouraging the little one. Accustomed to the powerful always winning, the bank always keeping the money and the criminals go unpunished, we find in sport an escape valve through which to distill boredom and an undeniable point of despair. Result: The glory of the little things. Nothing better. It is not just about the famous bread and circus to which the few sports fans appeal. You can be fully aware of the necessary struggle in other social aspects, but enjoy a little, get excited ..., it never hurts, even to gain new strength.

A book inspired by another original from 1975 that narrates an incomparable sporting event:

Summary: With their brand new yellow uniform, the Steeple Sinderby Wanderers - whose members already find themselves with a song in the teeth only if the field where they play is not submerged under several centimeters of water - is the least known football team, and less professional, from all over England. This unclassifiable and tremendously funny novel tells of a great feat: the one that led this humble team to start the season wreaking havoc to end up contesting the final at Wembley Stadium itself. "But is this story credible?" Asks the author. "Ah, it all depends on whether you want to believe it." Sometimes a handful of dream-seized men can accomplish the impossible (with a little help).
